"Beyond Brick and Mortar. The Real Value of your Business"Do you know what your company owns? Protecting Your Company's Intellectual Property. As a business owner, you know all of the assets that your business owns and you have a general idea of the value of those assets. Or do you? The value of a successful company with a proven track record far exceeds the value of its tangible assets. Knowing the value of your tangible assets is important, but it is every bit as important for you to identify, understand and protect your intangible assets. It is estimated that 80 percent of the value of the companies listed on the S & P Fortune 500 is intellectual capital. The value of your intellectual property will vary depending on many factors, including what steps you have taken to protect that intellectual property. This informative session will teach you how to best protect your brand name, your content and your inventions. In this presentation, attendees will learn that With a few basic steps, they can greatly increase the value of their business. If they pay someone to create content for them, they don't own it unless there is a written document saying they own it. If they don't register their brand name as a federal trademark, they risk losing it. The difference between a trademark and a trade name. Keeping a trade secret costs nothing and creates value for the company.
